<원어민이 좋아하는 동사>

 

- Look after : 돌보다

# i have to look after my sister while my parents are away my friend asked me to look after his dog.

 

- Look into : 조사하다

# plice started to look into the murder case

 

- look down on : 깔보다

# why do we look down on homeless people? 

# don't look down on me 

 

- look up : 찾아서 만나다, 나아지다

# I'm going to look up my friend in chicago

# look up the internet for the map

# if you don't know the meaning, look up the world in the dictionary his business is finally looking up

 

- look up to : 존경하다, 우러러보다 

# the students are looking up to professor kim 

 

- look for : ~을 찾다 

- look at : ~을 보다 

- look forward to : 기대하다

-look in : (잠깐) 들리다, 방문하다

- look through : 대충보다

- look ahead : 앞을 내다보다 

 

- cut out : 잘라내다, 제거하다, 배제하다, 그만하다.

# my scenes were cut out from the movie

# my car engine cut out when i stopped at the stoplight

# will you cut it out? you are making mush noise

# you need to cut out smoking

 

-cut it out : 그것을 잘라내다

-cut out : 성격을 맞추다

                    * to be - 사람

                     * for - 사물, 명사

- cut off : 뚝 떨어지다, 정지되다

# he cut off her head

# my phone was cut off bacause i didn't pay my bill

-cut down / cut back : (양을) 줄이다

# I have to cut down on coffee = i have to cut vack on coffee

# you should cut down spending

# we have to cut down on expense

# i need to cut down on saity food

- cut in : 새치기

# he cut in the line

* reduce : 줄이다, 감소하다, 낮추다 -> 일상적이지 않을때 씀

 

- move in : 이사 들어간다

- move in with : 동거하다

- move out : 이사 나가다

- move on : 넘어가다

- move over (자리르) 옮기다

- on the move : 분주하다
